Launch Event Video Services

What this video covers

Launch event video services showcase the energy and excitement of major product or service unveilings. These videos capture keynote moments, audience reactions, and product highlights that create buzz and momentum for brands. They are designed to generate natural sharing across news outlets, social platforms, and internal channels while building anticipation and long term engagement.

The importance of launch event videos

A launch event video is crafted to inspire excitement, encourage participation, and extend the reach of an unveiling far beyond the live audience. These videos capture everything from the opening keynote through audience engagement, creating a highlight reel that communicates the energy of the event. Tech leaders like Apple and Tesla have shown how these moments can become cultural milestones. A well produced launch event video delivers content that lives across websites, advertising campaigns, and PR outlets, ensuring the event continues to create impact long after it ends.

Keynote and product reveals

A keynote sets the tone of the event and builds anticipation. Following this, a launch video or staged reveal engages the audience directly with the new product, service, or milestone. Capturing these moments ensures that audiences who could not attend experience the same excitement.

Audience reactions and atmosphere

Applause, standing ovations, and live demonstrations give a launch event authenticity. Recording these interactions shows genuine excitement, adding credibility to the product or service being introduced. Slow motion cameras, beauty shots, and b roll highlight hugs, handshakes, and networking moments that make viewers feel they are part of the event.

User generated content and social sharing

Encouraging natural content from attendees boosts reach. Parents, vendors, and professionals posting their own clips provides authentic voices that amplify the event. Launch event videos act as a hub for this engagement, helping marketing teams generate traction across multiple channels.

Case study: eSports facility launch

An eSports company in DeSoto launched a new facility with a grand opening that brought together politicians, educators, vendors, and local media. Instead of relying only on a pre produced highlight video, the production team leveraged the event itself. The resulting launch event video became a tool for community engagement, as attendees recognized themselves in the footage and shared it across social media. This natural participation transformed the video into an ongoing case study, generating momentum and support year after year.

Hey guys, this is Jay over at Firebrand Media, and today we’re talking about launch event videos. What are they? What can you expect out of them? And how can a production company like us strategically tackle them with you?

So, in order to have the video, you have to have the event. A launch event is something that’s hyped, it’s exciting, it’s meant to generate buzz and interest in either a new product, brand, service, or a company milestone. You see tech giants like Apple and Microsoft do this well in the space, hosting exclusive events or new product launches, like a new iPhone, and everybody from marketing to news outlets comes to see the launch.

The format of these events will generally open with a keynote speaker who drums up excitement leading to a product launch video, service video, or film that highlights the service. This launch event video is played right after that keynote opener. After the launch event video is finished, the crowd will buzz with excitement, clap, or even do a standing ovation because they are excited about the new product or service. This is quickly followed up with a Q&A and then most likely an after-party where the guests or audience can engage with the product or service for themselves.

Tesla’s Elon Musk had his own launch event for the Cybertruck, where he brought the Cybertruck on stage and then beat it with a hammer to demonstrate the fortification of the windows, the material used, and the metal lining and finish of the chassis. A production company capturing this type of event helps marketing disseminate the content across many channels, including advertising and PR for news publication resources. That’s where you’ll see rich snippets featured on Google or your favorite news app, creating headlines and drumming up interest for a new product or service.

Launch event videos follow the same cadence as general events themselves. Being that it’s a live moment and you can’t recapture it, you want to consider the BME—beginning, middle, and end—from a production company standpoint. That beginning can be the location, giving the audience a view into where the event is happening. The middle is the meat and potatoes: show the show, who’s attending, and the excitement, and build a story that highlights the brand through collateral on screens, merged in apparel, or giveaways to attendees. The end focuses on the outro of the stage activity.

Typically, in post-production, a launch event video will focus on pulling the best snippets from the speaking on stage and sprinkling them across the BME sequence on a timeline. When paired with music that builds excitement and clips of people talking and making grand statements, the video can motivate and inspire viewers.

A production company focusing on branded event videos should prep to be nimble. Of course, having main stage cameras set up to capture general content is important, but when it comes to excitement, slowing down the camera, shooting in 240 frames per second on a gimbal or slow-motion cam, and moving around the house to capture beauty shots, hugs, claps, and handshakes is crucial. These moments show the audience’s excitement and make viewers watching the event recap or sizzle reel feel FOMO.

An example of a launch event video we executed was for an eSports company in DeSoto that recently launched their facility. To generate interest and support, the CEO called on vendors, news outlets, and local board members for K through 12 education. They wanted kids to visit the facility and parents to embrace the path to professional development within eSports. Everyone—from teachers, principals, board members, politicians, vendors, and local radio stations—was under one roof to celebrate the grand opening.

Instead of playing a facility highlight video in the middle of the event following the keynote, we leveraged the event itself to garner more support and disseminate it across social channels. One of the most important tools for the marketing team was generating natural UGC—user-generated content—from attendees. Parents, politicians, and professionals saw themselves in the launch event video and shared it across their social media, garnering more support and engagement. The video became less about recording the event and more of a case study. Year over year, they followed the same structure for the GC 19 event, supporting eSports and keeping relevant audiences engaged.

To summarize, the launch event video for the eSports company built momentum that turned into a year-over-year event. If you have any questions about launch event videos or need help with pre-production planning, give us a call here at Firebrand Media. We’d love to help you
